Painting
We have many years of experience using a variety of paints and products. We can offer you advice on the best paint or product to use for the job and to get the look that you what to achieve. Paint is a quick and relatively cost effective way of changing a room and giving it the WOW factor!
Wallpapering
We are skilled in hanging many different types of wallpaper and really enjoy this part of my job. We can hang lining paper on older properties or to cover cracked and crazed plastered walls to help achieve a fresh new finish. Wallpaper is a way of creating a personal stamp to your room, matching paint to the colours of the paper is another way of creating an individual look!
Domestic & Commercial
We have worked in various properties over the past 30 years. We have worked in period properties, office units, warehouses, pub/restaurant, sporting venues, barn conversions and many types of private houses. Please call to discuss your requirements.
Repair Work
We are able to deal with minor repairs both inside and out. For example; rotten window frames, patch work to render and inside plasterwork, damaged skirting boards, missing tiles and other minor issues.
Staining & Oiling
We are able to give advice on reviving or restoring wooden surfaces, worktops, kitchen cupboards, flooring to name just a few, then getting the job done. There are many products on the market for this type work and can help you decide on the right one before giving you the finish you require. Please get in contact to discuss it further.
Coving
We can replace any missing or damaged coving, patching it in before redecoration. We can also apply new coving to your room should you require this.

About Hart Decor
My name is Ian Hartgrove (owner of Hart Decor) and I was born and bred in Northampton and I still live in Duston, Northampton with my family.
I left school and went straight into a Painting and Decorating apprenticeship. While I was completing my college course, I was working on new building sites and really learned the trade. Once qualified, I continued on the building sites for about ten years, moving to various sites in Northampton, Leicester, Peterborough, Milton Keynes, Brackley, Bicester to name a few and was decorating the show houses as well as the newly built homes.
Over the years, I have gradually picked up more and more domestic work and have worked in various styles of houses. I have completed work in Grade 2 listed buildings, large Manor houses across the Anglia region, plush apartments and town houses in Mayfair, I was involved in the refurbishment/decoration of the Brampton Halt public house and restaurant. I have decorated boxes at Twickenham Rugby Ground for large corporate businesses and decorated several rooms/areas at The O2 (Millennium Dome) in London for big events. I have also spent a lot of time in homes in and around Northampton, decorating various rooms in my customers homes. This is the type of work I really enjoy as I can see how pleased and excited they are with their finished rooms.
